Chocolate Indian Pudding

This is not the most beautiful dish I’ve ever made. Thank goodness it tastes better than it looks.

Chocolate! And really it looks better in person than it does in these pictures. I’ve had this problem before. Some chocolate goodies just don’t translate into yummy looking photos.

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

It’s so cold and snowy in my neck of the woods that I just want oatmeal. And coffee. And a heating blanket. And a quilted bag of warm corn kernels. . .no I’m not crazy.

Chocolate CherryBut I am cold. My aunt makes these quilted cloth bags filled with dried corn kernels and you stick them in the microwave to heat them and then put them on your freezing feet! They are probably also useful on sore muscles but I wouldn’t know because my feet are too cold to waste the warm corn on muscles. (side note-when I heat the corn my house smells of popcorn, which in turn makes me want to eat popcorn.)

Chocolate Pear Spice Cake

‘Tis the season for gingerbread. I see that even Burger King has a gingerbread flavor milk shake right now. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Chocolate and pear spice cakeI don’t make a lot of gingerbread flavor things. Not because I don’t like it, but I think a person tends to gravitate toward flavors that are traditional for them. At least for me that’s the case. Especially during the holidays. It’s the nostalgia that kicks in.

Spiced Cookie Truffles

It’s almost Halloween! Eat all the miniature candy you can get your hands on. Tiny 3 Musketeers and tiny Almond Joy are my favorite. What are yours?

You could make some cute little truffles to share with all the monsters in your life.

One Year Blogiversary!

Today is my 1 year Blogiversary! My first post was a year ago today. Wow!

I can’t believe it’s been a year already. It doesn’t seem that I’ve written as many recipes and blog posts as I have this year. You’d assume I’d be as big as a house by now!

S’more Cookies

This weekend Tim and I rode our bikes about 30 miles. Not all in the same day, but half Saturday and half Sunday. The weather was lovely and finally warm again! Thank goodness, cause I was scared winter was bearing down on us already. All that riding gives me license to do things like sit around and eat Chinese take out or have pancakes!

Our Sunday ride was planned out to culminate in breakfast at our halfway point. We headed into an area of town called “Old Town” with a location in mind. Turns out they roll the sidewalks up in Old Town on Sundays. Only one place was open and although it is delicious, they also have huge waits to get a table most mornings and we were looking for a little bit more instant gratification so we headed into downtown looking for an alternative. Little did we know we were doomed to wait.
