It’s the perfect spring weather right now. Warm enough during the day to be outside without a sweatshirt but cool enough in the morning and evening to comfortably cuddle up with a nice cup of coffee or a latte. Of course, this weather has been a long time coming and still is about 20 degrees below where we normally are right now.
Actually the relative warmth has only hit the past 2 days. Which was unfortunate for Tim & I and our planned hiking trip this past weekend. Read the rest of this entry

I have very few pictures of this cake. I guess I was just so excited about it that I forgot to whip out the camera.
And in case you’re concerned, no hummingbirds were harmed in the making of this cake. Although, maybe this cake is the reason Tim’s face was attacked by a hummingbird last week! A hummingbird buzzed in like a giant killer bumblebee and ran right into Tim’s face. He said his face was even wet with bird spit afterwards. (Do birds have spit?) I’m not sure if it was an accidental flight miscalculation or just a violent attack by a rogue bird. Either way, Tim moved pretty fast in reaction to the “attack’. Quite funny, really!
We celebrated a birthday around here this weekend. Happy Birthday, Timmy! Don’t mind the fact that the cake is pink. He likes it!
Cherry chip cake was the order of the day. It was delicious. I’m pretty sure that by now all of it is gone. It was 3 layers and easily fed about 10 of us with a full 1/4 of the cake left. It went home with the birthday boy.
